Nestled in the heart of Catalonia, under the majestic silhouette of the Montserrat mountain, DO Pla de Bages is a small but prestigious wine region with a rich medieval heritage. The area is famous for its “barracas de vinya” (stone vine huts) and its unique microclimate that produces wines with incredible concentration.
The hallmark of this region is the indigenous Picapoll grape, a variety that creates bright, fresh, and soulful white wines you won’t find anywhere else. But the Bages is also home to intense and elegant reds that reflect the forest-fringed landscapes and the mineral-rich soils of the interior.
