7254 – WATERFORD SINGLE MALT IRISH WHISKY CUVEE ARGOT 1.1 47º – 70 Cl.
Features: Waterford Distillery, located in Waterford City, Ireland, is known for its innovative approach to the concept of “terroir” in whisky production. Founded by Mark Reynier in 2015, who was previously responsible for the revival of Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt, the distillery is dedicated to highlighting the influence of soil and growing conditions on the quality of whisky.
Waterford works with 86 Irish farms that grow barley in 19 different soil types, using organic and biodynamic practices. Each harvest is managed independently, ensuring the purity of the terroirs in each bottle. The Cuvée Argot whisky is one of the distillery’s most outstanding expressions, inspired by the wines of Bordeaux. It consists of 14 Single Farm Origins, using barley from different varieties such as Irina, Olympus, Laureate, Taberna, Propí and Overture.
After a three-year maturation process, the whisky was aged in a combination of American oak, natural sweet wine and French oak casks that previously contained wines from famous Bordeaux châteaux. This process gives the whisky a unique complexity, resulting from the interaction of the different barley strains and the aging in selected casks.
