7242 – KUJIRA 25 YEARS JAPANESE SINGLE GRAIN WHISKY BOURBON CASK LIMITED 43º – 70 Cl.
Characteristics: Kujira 25 Year Old Ryukyu Whisky is a masterpiece from the Masahiro distillery, whose artisanal tradition dates back to 1883. Its production process follows techniques refined over 140 years, without taking shortcuts at any stage. This exceptional whisky has been carefully selected and blended by Master Arakaki Sunao, and aged in white oak casks for over 25 years in Okinawa’s subtropical climate, a unique environment that accelerates its maturation and imparts a distinctive aromatic richness. The Kujira 25 Year Old is distinguished by its complex aromas and flavours, infused with notes of tropical fruits and plants. Its production is extremely limited, making it a true gem for lovers of Japanese whisky. It is recommended to enjoy it neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its depth and elegance. Furthermore, the influence of the Kumesen Shuzo distillery, founded in 1952, is notable in the innovation of Japanese whisky. Originally specialising in Awamori, the distillery began experimenting with maturation in bourbon barrels in 1989, when these were more accessible due to the fall in demand for bourbon in the 1980s and 1990s. This exploration in ageing has been key to the development of Kujira’s distinctive profile.
