2934 – RED WINE CHÂTEAU DU MOURRE DU TENDRE OF PLAN DE DÍEU – WINES OF FRANCE
Characteristics: A new plot for the Château du Mourre de Tendre, made for the first time in 2015, is in the Villages of Côtes du Rhône It is the “Plan de Díeu”. This wine is made with vines between 70 and 90 years old and is a blend of Grenache mainly with Mourvedre and Cinsault. While the Plan de Díeu is not well known outside the southern Rhône, this terroir is receiving more and more attention due to its similarity to many of the famous sites located in the southern part of Châteauneuf du Pape.
Description: ‘Pla de Dieu’ translates as ‘Plain of the Gods’ and refers to a historic plot of vineyards (dating back to the 14th century) on the outskirts of Orange. This definitely improves things on the wine side, significantly more power and intensity on the nose. While it’s still full of vibrant fruit, there’s also a beautiful hint of violet that brings real elegance to the final wine.
Vinification: Whole grapes, semi-carbonic maceration, fermentation with natives and maceration for 30 days.
Aging: 24 months in tank and six months in bottle before release on the market.

Tasting notes:
- View: Intense red colour with violet notes.
- Nose: Aromas of liquorice, red fruits and candied fruits. Aromatic persistence and good balance.
- Mouth: After a frank attack, it gives us a good vivacity with very present and coated tannins.
Pairing: Roast quail, roast lamb, mustard ham, marinated chicken legs.
Service: It is served at a temperature between 19 and 21 °C.
