Description

2928 – RED WINE HÉRITAGE “AN 1877” SAINT CHINIAN 2021 GÉRARD BERTRAND – WINES OF FRANCE

Characteristics: 1877 is a tribute to modern times, to the revolution of steam engines and to the first railway line from Saint Chinian that allowed the wines of the region to be transported to the capitals.

Cellar: Gérard Bertrand

Denomination of Origin: AOP Saint Chinian

Grape varieties: Syrah and Mourvèdre.

Vintage: 2021

Vinification and aging: The work begins in the vineyard with a selection of the most suitable plots to produce this type of wine. Most of the grapes are harvested by hand. A double selection system is used in the vineyard and in the winery. Vinification is traditional, so the grapes are destemmed before the maceration phase begins, which lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. The grapes are then pressed and malolactic fermentation begins. 33% of the wine ages for 9 months in barrels, and the rest is kept in vats.

Graduation: 14.5% Vol.

Type of bottle and Capacity: Conical Bordeaux of 75 Cl.

Tasting Notes:

View: The colour is intense red.

Nose: The nose offers an intense bouquet, fine and complex notes of cocoa, laurel, tapenade and black pepper.

Mouth: In the mouth it is rich and smooth, with pure and complex flavours of black fruit and sweet spices. Long and velvety finish.

Pairing: grilled red meats and aged cheeses.

Service: It is served at a temperature of 18 °C.
