2528 – RED WINE COMA FREDOSA – D.O. EMPORDÀ
Characteristics: In Colera, touching the sea and just 10 minutes from the French border, the vines of Hugas de Batlle fight against the north wind, which strongly marks the personality of their wines. Dry stone terraces and slates together with this climate are intrinsic characteristics of the area, which offers high quality wines. Due to its privileged location in the east, close to the sea, Hugas de Batlle boasts of being the first of all Catalan wineries to see the light of day.The viticulture that takes place is respectful of the environment and the traditions surrounding the history of the Empordà. In this way, slopes and terraces that were abandoned at the end of the 19th century with the appearance of phylloxera are currently being recovered. The approximate production of each strain of Hugas de Batlle is 1 kg with vines that can reach a root depth of up to 12 meters.
