7314 – PEATS BEATS SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY 46º – 70 Cl.

Features: Peat’s Beast, created in 2011, was not just the creation of one person, but the collaboration of many great minds within the exciting world of whisky. Like any other great drink, it is the combination of ingredients, the key to what makes the difference.

We believe that our team does a good job day in and day out, that is why our distillery, listed as Independent Distillers, was founded and run by Eamonn Jones who was a regional director of Whyte & Mackay, responsible for sales of Dalmore, Jura and other great brands. Gerald Erdrich was their importer, distinguished in the business, crossing paths, these two great minds decided to come together and use their experience and ingredients to make a brand, a beast. Who could bring their beast to life?

For this, a creative genius was needed. Our dear deceased friend Mark Graham took on the role of creator. In collaboration with Los Angeles-based Brazilian artist Dough Alves, the iconic Beast was born. Now, it fell to even greater minds to ensure that the Beast would make a splash. Igniting your senses with smoke and fire from the start, wild and ferocious. Industry legend Richard Paterson, aka The Nose, confirmed that the sipping attributes were never anything short of amazing. Eamonn Jones’ business partner and industry colleague of 30 years, Aidan Smith, ensured that quality was maintained at every step. Here it is. A mix of great minds, great brains and great friends has created a fantastic single malt.

The Beast is born! Over the years, we have added several different whiskies aged in different barrels to the Peats Beast family, along with the Standard 46% single malt whisky without refrigeration, without additives or colorings… the range now includes a whisky aged for 9 months in a Pedro Ximenez barrel.

Tasting Notes:

  • View: Straw yellow with bright highlights.
  • Nose: A robust fusion of sea spray, campfire smoke, damp earth and spicy cinnamon immediately awakens the senses. These powerful aromas of peat and wet grass must be fully respected before seductive notes of crushed pear, apple and freshly baked bread put the finishing touches on this memorable tune.
  • Mouth: Strong and bold with plenty of backbone and structure as this big monster bares its fiery fangs on your palate. This is not for the faint of heart. Take a generous bite with a biting wind blowing furiously in your face. Hold it long in your mouth and let the thick tar, peat smoke and creamy liquorice penetrate every part of your tongue. Time will tame it.
