7257 – IRISH WATERFORD SINGLE MALT WHISKY LAKEFIELD 1.1 50º – 70 Cl.
Features: The Waterford Single Malt Whisky Lakefield Edition is a unique expression of the Waterford distillery, made with barley from the prestigious Lakefield farm, located in County Laois, Ireland. Its origin is due to the enigmatic farmer Seamus Duggan, winner of the 2019 Oat Producer of the Year trophy, who grows an exceptional grain thanks to the deep loam soils, rich in limestone and sandstone. These well-drained and fertile soils, combined with the temperate climate of Ireland, generate a barley of the highest quality, the basis of this whisky of unique character.
This whisky is part of the Single Farm Origin range, which means that it comes exclusively from barley from a single estate, highlighting the concept of terroir. Waterford is a pioneering distillery in the traceability and purity of its ingredients, keeping the harvest from each farm separate and treating it with the same artisanal care.
The production process is distinguished by a prolonged fermentation of 120 hours, much longer than the industry standard, which allows for greater aromatic and flavour depth to develop. In addition, its distillation is done slowly to preserve the sensorial richness of the grain and to express the impact of the terroir to the fullest. This exceptional blend results in a whisky with great structure and balance, with deep flavors ranging from caramel, honey and nougat to coffee and chocolate, maintaining an enveloping texture and a long and refined finish.
Its distinctive character makes it an ideal choice for whisky connoisseurs and enthusiasts who seek to discover the impact of the terroir in every sip. The exclusive use of pure spring water and a team of highly specialized distillers reinforces Waterford’s vision of creating exceptional whiskies that capture the essence of the place of origin. Thanks to its meticulous production process and its respect for the terroir, Lakefield 1.1 is positioned as one of the most sophisticated expressions within the distillery’s range, combining the history of Irish barley with the highest quality in whiskey.
