Characteristics: Silkie Irish Whiskey Legendary Dark is a blended Irish whiskey made by Sliabh Liag Distillers in Ireland, inspired by the legends of the Silkie seals of the Donegal coast. It is a blend of double and triple distilled single malts, including a peated malt matured in sherry/sour barrels and unpeatted malts, along with grain whiskey gently aged in virgin oak barrels.

It is bottled at 46% vol. without chill filtration or added colour, which preserves the natural texture and flavour. Its style seeks to recreate the character of the old whiskeys of the western region of Ireland with a combination of natural sweetness, fruit notes, spices and a more pronounced smoky touch than the standard versions. The evocative and evocative label suggests enjoying it both on its own or with ice or in relaxed moments next to a fireplace.

Tasting Notes:

• View: Rich amber with gold tones, clean and bright.
• Nose: Fresh apple, pear and dried spices with dry peat smoke and warm oak, along with hints of salted caramel and pipe tobacco.
• Mouth: Smooth and slightly sweet entry with notes of salted caramel, sweet tobacco, liquorice and dark chocolate, evolving into toffee and ripe pear with persistent dry smoke.
