Features: Kujira 5 Years Old Japanese Single Grain Whiskey és made on el Japanese island of Okinawa, located south of Japan towards Thailand. It is a warm climate and home to Awamori, a traditional distilled rice spirit unique to the region. Awamori es believed to be the predecessor to Shochu, the most popular fermented and distilled product made in many parts of Japan. Like Shochu, both are made from rice, although Awamori is made from long-grain Indica rice from Thailand, i black Koji (a mold grown on rice) s’usa durant fermentació per convertir starches do sugars aid the yeast. Awamori és lightly aged and bottled at between 30% and 43% alcohol. The Kumesen Shuzo distillery va ser desenvolupat el 1952 i el seu principal producte és Awamori. Made with 100% premium rice.First-fill matured and aged in white oak barrels and settled in a subtropical climate in the south of the island of Okinawa, Japan, for over 5 years. Rich in wood, with a fruity dark aroma and flavour. The body is smooth and mellow, finishing with sweet notes. The casks contribute woody and spicy notes. The Kujira Whisky range is elegant, distinctive and very limited. The editions of this whisky are very small, with only a few bottles arriving in Europe each year, making it a unique experience to taste.
Tasting Notes:
- View: Exhibits a bright, clear golden colour with pale gold hues, acquired 100% naturally and without artificial colourings thanks to the rapid absorption of pigments from the virgin white oak barrels under Okinawa’s intense subtropical climate.
- Nose: Sweet aromas of caramel and vanilla, with a hint of liquorice. Oak.
- Palate: Sweet caramel with a fresh vanilla note. With a touch of oak tannins.
- Finish: Smooth, honeyed and sweet, with woody and spicy notes. A peppery finish.
