7111 – GUYANA RUM EL DORADO 5 YEARS OLD 40º – 70 Cl.
Characteristics: Aged for at least 5 years, El Dorado is a blend of rums produced in both metal and wooden stills. In addition, this rum is created on the banks of Demerara, which makes it a traditionally Caribbean rum.
The label refers to the youngest rum that was used in the blend of this rum, which makes it an attractive and exquisite rum. For this reason, it is considered one of the noblest rums in the world and has a unique flavour for the enjoyment of people who appreciate a good drink.
Demenara’s unique climate creates a perfect environment for the aging of rum. In addition, the use of oak barrels, where the rum is stored for decades, provides a deep and rich flavour; a flavour unlike anything else.
The history of rum in Demenara, Guyana, began with the Dutch around 1600 when they found a land rich in minerals and a climate that provided the perfect environment for the production of sugar cane. With so much sugar in the area, rum production was inevitable. By 1780 there were over 300 distilleries in the region, including El Dorado.
By 1942 only 9 of the original Demenara distilleries remained, and today only a few remain, making El Dorado one of the most traditional distilleries of all.
Tasting notes:
- View: Deep, bright and attractive amber color, with golden reflections that show the aging process in oak barrels.
- Nose: It is complex and elegant, with aromas of ripe fruit, brown sugar, soft spices and a touch of wood that reflects its time in oak barrels.
- Mouth: Its flavour is smooth, round and well balanced. The flavours of caramel, vanilla, toffee and dried fruit combine perfectly with a light touch of wood and spices, resulting in a warm and lasting finish.
