2976 – RED WINE NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO RISERVA VECCHIA CANTINA – ITALIAN WINES

Characteristics: Vecchia Cantina represents the essence of the people who for decades have worked constantly in close contact with these lands rich in history, tradition and culture, reflecting the spirit of the 14 founders.

Production: The Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG from the historic Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano is one of the best “Nobili” in Italy, and is a wine that, if stored well, lends itself to a long aging. The grapes are collected and selected, then fermented for 20 days at a temperature of approximately 26-28°C. After this process, the wine is aged for 30 months in small oak barrels, then bottled and left to rest in the cellar at a controlled temperature for approximately 11 months.

Tasting notes:

• View: Ruby red covered with garnet reflections.
• Nose: Broad and persistent, with notes of red fruits and spices.
• Palate: Salty, full and soft, with pleasant tannic notes to complete a never excessive acidity.

Pairing: It goes very well with stewed red meat dishes, roasts, grilled meats, pasta with meat sauce and cured cheeses.

Service: This excellent red wine is reserve, so it is very important that the bottle of wine is opened and decanted for at least 2 hours before use; in doing so the wine expresses its best characteristics. Serve in large colourless crystal glasses at a temperature of 16-18°C.
