2595 – RED WINE TREPAT 22@ CARLES ANDREU – D.O. CONCA DE BARBERÀ
Characteristics: The 12@ is a young red wine from Cellar Carles Andreu, located in Pira, in the Conca de Barberà (Tarragona). The 12@ is a wine made only with Trepat, a traditional grape variety from the DO Conca de Barberà.
Description: Delicious red wine from the Trepat grape, with the characteristic lightness of the varietal but also with its sparkle and with its pleasant feeling of fruit. The Trepat red confirms the winery’s commitment to this grape, a treasure fortunately rescued from oblivion in the always interesting panorama of wines made in Catalonia.
Elaboration: The wine is harvested manually, waiting for the optimum point of maturation required by the Trepat to make red wines (traditionally more green was harvested to make rosé cavas). In the winery, the grapes are manually selected on the table. The beans macerate briefly before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The vintner seeks minimal intervention to achieve maximum varietal expression.
