2517 – RED WINE MARIÀ PAGÈS TACA NEGRA CRIANÇA – D.O. EMPORDÀ

 

Characteristics: The production region of D.O. Empordà is located in the region of Empordà (Empordà), until 2006 called Empordà-Costa Brava, it covers the wine-growing area from Albera to the Serra de Rodes and Garrotxa d’Empordà. The production area is divided into two sub-zones: 35 municipalities in the north of the Alt Empordà and 13 municipalities in the east of the Baix Empordà.

Winery: The Marià Pagès winery is a winery in Capmany with a family tradition that goes back to the middle of the 19th century, specifically 1870. It has a production capacity of around 1,000 hector litters and an annual production of approximately 55,000 litters; producing quality young wines: reds, rosés and whites as well as aged reds, a wine much loved by consumers. This winery has received the distinction of the Chamber of Commerce and is one of the oldest wineries in Catalonia, specifically more than 125 years of history.

Elaboration: Minimum aging of one year in French and American oak barrels.

Varieties: Cabernet Franc, Grenache Black, Merlot

Service: Between 14 and 16 ºC temperature.
