1266 – CORPINNAT LLOPART BRUT EX-VITE – 108 Months of Ageing
Wine characteristics: Llopart Ex·Vite is considered the emblem of Llopart’s long aging. It combines the history and legacy of Llopart and is named after the family motto Ex Vite Vita (life comes from the vine). Age majestically with dignity and elegance. The special integrated expedition liqueur is made according to a genuine enological formula from the end of the 19th century. Limited and numbered edition.
The vineyard: The Ex·Vite is the fruit of old vines located on the site of the Heritage of Can Llopart which is called Les Flandes: the vineyard of Pere de Can Ros, from Xarel·lo (1934) and Macabeu (1956) and the vineyard of Isidoro, from 1981, from Xarel·lo. Les Flandes is an enclave formed by an amphitheater of vineyards, raised on vertical walls of limestone rock more than 12 meters high, from the Miocene era (16 million years). In this place there are unique, privileged and perfect characteristics for the production of grapes with the maximum expression of the singularity of the place where they come from. It is a space surrounded by an immense lung of Mediterranean pine and oak forest with great biodiversity and where an infinite number of aromatic plants predominate. It is for this reason that we talk about the mountain vineyards of Llopart.
Elaboration: We pick the Pere de Can Ros and the Isidoro vineyards by hand, and the grapes are pressed whole to keep their properties as much as possible. We ferment the musts at a low temperature to preserve the freshest aromas in the wine. The blend of base wines is bottled at the beginning of the year and the bottles are placed in racks, where, at constant temperature and humidity, in the dark, they will rest for more than 96 months, aging with cork stoppers. After the aging time, we move the bottles of Ex·Vite to the desks, where we proceed to remove each one manually. After about a month of stirring, we cut the neck to remove the lees from the wine, and cover with the definitive cork. It incorporates a unique expedition liqueur, made from noble Xarello wines partially aged in barrel.
Varieties: Xarel·lo 60% (Pere de Can Ros vineyard from 1934) and Macabeu 40% (Isidoro vineyard from 1956)
Graduation: 11.9% Vol
Tasting notes:
- Colour: Golden colour, bright and penetrating. Small, thin and integrated bubble that, thanks to its long aging, transforms into an emotional caress on the palate.
- Nose: Powerful, elegant and complex aroma that mixes notes of dried, toasted and balsamic fruits and subtle smokiness.
- Palate: In the mouth it is broad and very tasty, with slight nuances of baked fruit, structured and very creamy. Its memory is persistent and pleasant, prolonged like the time that the bottle treasures.
Service: Taste at a temperature between 6 ºC and 8 ºC
