7135 – RUM FROM FRANCE TRANSCONTINENTAL RUM LINE FLYING KING 42º – 70 Cl.
Description: Flying King rum is a blend of Jamaican liqueurs with a high ester content and more delicate and balanced Dominican liqueurs. These rums are matured for 3 years in American oak barrels that previously contained bourbon. The entire production process took place in the tropics. The Trans-Caribbean line consists of two rums created with the idea of using them in cocktails. Both were named after pirate ships that once terrorized the waters of the Caribbean Sea. The Flying King was built for the British Navy, like the Elizabeth and the Katherine, but in 1719 it was captured by pirates and its command passed into the hands of Robert Sample, a friend of the infamous Edward of England.Flying King rum is a blend of column still and traditional still distillates.
It was distilled in 2015, blended and bottled in a limited edition in 2019. To fully preserve its aromas and flavours, it was not subjected to chill filtration. Its bouquet features notes of esters, roasted banana, nuts, a touch of liquorice and cinnamon.
Characteristics: This three-year-old rum combines the powerful ester notes of Jamaica with the balanced Spanish-influenced style of the Dominican Republic. Its limited edition reflects the adventurous and indomitable spirit of pirate captain Robert Sample, after whom it is named.
