2541 – RAIMAT ABADIA ROSÉ ECOLÒGICAL 2020 D.O. COSTERS DEL SEGRE

 Characteristics: Every great winery has its emblematic wine. Abadia represents the essence of Raimat and the oldest wine brand of the Costers del Segre denomination of origin. This Rosé Wine is the fruit of this policy at its highest expression, applying ecological practices from the vine to the glass. In the preparation of this blend of Hare’s Eye and Cabernet Sauvignon, only flower must was used, with the aim of obtaining an elegant, fresh wine with great aromatic complexity.Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon and Hare’s Eye

Tasting notes:

· View: Bright pale pink colour, which resembles the petals of the first spring roses.

· Nose: Aromatically subtle, with elegant notes of strawberry and redcurrant, typical of a good eye of the hare, soft floral touches of violets and rose petals, hints of grapefruit and a light aniseed background.

· Palate: Friendly entrance with a pleasant freshness; voluminous, balanced and long-distance. In the middle of the mouth, notes of strawberry and hints of cherry are found, giving it a fruity and refreshing finish.

Pairing: Gastronomic wine par excellence that pairs perfectly with a large number of dishes. Ideal for hitting with all types of lids. It can be accompanied with blue fish (tuna, salmon or sardines). Perfect complement to rice, legume salads, vegetables, with birds such as quail or pheasant.

Service: It is recommended to serve it between 8 and 10 ºC temperature.

 

 

2540 – WHITE WINE RAIMAT CHARDONNAY CASTLE 2021 D.O. COSTERS DEL SEGRE

Characteristics: Raimat is the dream of a visionary and the castle is the memory. A shield engraved in stone found more than a hundred years ago on the entrance door shows a grape and a hand. This symbol became the origin of the Raimat name (“Raïm”, grape in Catalan and “mà”, hand) and the image of the brand. With this wine we commemorate the origins of Raimat which endure as firmly as the walls of its castle.

2544 – RED WINE JAN PETIT CLOS-PONS 2020 D.O. COSTERS DEL SEGRE

 Description: Jan Petit is a red wine obtained from old vines in the southern mountainous area of ​​Les Garrigues and within the D.O. from Costers del Segre. Obtained through manual harvesting of the Grenache and Syrah varieties.

Elaboration: The grapes come from vineyards located at 500-700 meters above sea level in the towns of Albagés and Pobla de Cérvoles. The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes of 15 kg. For its production, a fermentation and aging with bâtonnage is carried out every 15 days in new French oak barrels for 4 months.

Varietals: 25% Grenache Black and 75% Syrah

Vintage: 2020

Aging: 4 months in French and American oak barrels.

Denomination of Origin: D.O. Coasts of the Segre

Alcoholic Degree: 13.5% Vol.

Tasting notes:

· View: A cherry colored wine of medium intensity, with a high level of complexity.

· Nose: Fresh, vital, intense, genuine, with character and personality. An inspiration born from our land.

· Mouth: In the mouth it is a red with gentle tannins and balanced acidity, a sweet wine with a hint of licorice.

Pairing: During winter and when it’s cold we like to prepare dishes with a higher caloric load and accords with the temperature, such as stews, meats, soups or creams. This type of cuisine pairs excellently with Jan Petit red wine, since, in addition, the tannins provided by this type of wine help to dissolve the fat in the food throughout the digestive process.

Service: It is recommended to serve it between 16 and 18 ºC.

 

 

2543 – WHITE WINE SISQUELLA CLOS-PONS 2015 D.O. COSTERS DEL SEGRE

 Description: Sisquella is a white wine from the D.O. Costers del Segre produced by Clos Pons. This winery is located in the municipality of L’Albagés (Lleida).

Production: Sisquella white wine is made from the Garnatxa Blanca, Albariño and Moscatell d’Alexandria varieties. The grapes come from vineyards located at 500-700 meters above sea level in the towns of Albagés and Pobla de Cérvoles.The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes of 15 kg. For its production, a fermentation and aging with bâtonnage is carried out every 15 days in new French oak barrels for 4 months.

Varietals: Garnacha Blanca, Albariño and Muscat of Alexandria

Pairing: Cod, Duck ham, Fish rice, Roasted white meats

2545 – RED WINE PETIT SAÓ 2018 D.O. COSTERS DEL SEGRE

 Description: Grapes from the farms La Fumada and La Vinya Gran which are located at an altitude of about 700 m. above sea level in the Lleida municipality of La Pobla de Cérvoles planted in poor soils with a local clay structure with a lot of pebbles. 15-year-old vines driven in shoulder. Organic viticulture.

Elaboration: Collected manually in small boxes with a selection of grapes in the vineyard itself during the month of October.Grapes destemmed and crushed in stainless steel tanks where they undergo pre-fermentative maceration and alcoholic fermentation at a temperature of 22ºC. Periodic remounts are practised. It carries out a post-fermentative maceration and malolactic fermentation in American and French oak barrels. The wine is filtered and clarified before being bottled in April.

Varietals: 50% Hare’s Eye, 30% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage: 2018

Aging: 8 months in French (40%) and American (60%) oak barrels of medium and light roast.

Denomination of Origin: D.O. Coasts of the Segre

Alcoholic Degree: 14.5% Vol.

Bottle type: Bordeaux expression of 75 Cl.

Capacity: 75 Cl.

Tasting notes:

· View: Intense cherry red, clean and bright.

· Nose: Aromas of red and black fruits highlighting blackberries, strawberries and cherries with a hint of fig, subtle hints of violet and a minty finish.

· Mouth: In the mouth it is round, spicy, balanced and voluminous, presenting a soft and silky tannin and a fresh, long and elegant finish.

Pairing: Pink and red meats, with fruit sauces, pasta.
