Characteristics: Kanosuke Japanese Whisky Limited Edition is a Japanese single malt whisky from the Kanosuke distillery, released as a 2023 limited edition and non-chill filtered with no added colouring. It was crafted from lightly peated malted barley, distilled primarily between 2018 and 2019, and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-shochu, and ex-sherry casks, which contributes a rich aromatic complexity and a solid structure. This expression features a profile of sweet smoothness and smoky peat flavours, alongside fruity and spicy notes that evolve as it opens up in the glass. It has received recognition in international competitions such as Superior Gold at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2024 and Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024, evidencing its quality and well-balanced style.

Tasting Notes:

• View: Deep, clear and luminous yellow amber.
• Nose: Intense aromas of ripe banana, custard cream, vanilla and spiced sweets, with a light touch of smoke and nuances of caramel and traditional Japanese sponge cake.
• Palate: A firm and structured entry; flavours of salted caramel, black tea, blood orange and spiced nuts, with a persistent background of soft smoke and spicy citrus notes.
