7200 – JAPANESE YAMAZAKURA BLENDED WHISKY 40º – 70 Cl.
Characteristics: Yamazakura Peated is a distinctive expression of the Asaka distillery, located in the Fukushima region, Japan. This distillery, founded in 2016 by Sasanokawa Shuzo Co, Ltd, benefits from exceptional natural resources, such as the pure water of Lake Inawashiro, located south of the Bandai Mountains. Yamazakura Peated is a blend of malt whisky and grain whisky, notable for its use of barley malted with peat. After a double distillation in copper pot stills, the whisky is aged for three years in casks that previously contained bourbon and sherry, which gives it complexity and depth.
Tasting Notes:
- View: Golden with amber sparkles, showing good depth of colour.
- Nose: Soft smoky notes are mixed with hints of vanilla, caramel, orange peel, malt and light touches of oak.
- Mouth: On the palate, peat combines with malt and citrus freshness, with a touch of caramelized almonds, gingerbread and a delicate retro taste of smoked plums.
- Finish: The finish is long, with touches of orange marmalade and sweet spices, which leave a comforting feeling.
