2935 – RED WINE CUVÉE 100 LES ARBOUSIERS CORBIÈRES OF GÉRARD BERTRAND – WINES OF FRANCE
Characteristics: The history of this wine begins in the 20th century, in the legendary territory of Fontfroide. Located in the heart of the Corbières appellation of origin, the Cuvée 100 is a sublime example of Carignan, the emblematic grape variety of the region. Coming from a century-old plot cultivated for the first time in 1920 by Paule Bertrand, Cuvée 100 reveals the best potential of its terroir and the unique know-how of the Bertrand family.
Vinification and Aging: The Carignan grape is harvested by hand at the optimal point of ripening. It is harvested in whole bunches, followed by destemmed Grenache bunches. After maceration in whole grapes for Carignan and traditionally for Grenache, the juice is subjected to a controlled fermentation between 26-27°C, and between 10 and 15 days in vats. Finally, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
