2821 – RED WINE NEGRE DE NEGRES 2021 D.O.Q. PRIORAT
Characteristics: Estate wine, majority synthesis from Clos del Portal. The grapes that ripen first are those that make up Negre de Negres, the more open, frank and round version of Alfredo Arribas’s project at the Clos del Portal estate, located in the town of Lloar. Expression of the purity of Grenache in its most delicate version. Expression of the crust of the Mediterranean soil. Compromise between tradition and the new Priory.
Description: A wine with great balance and structure but above all with a marked personality. The old Grenache, Carignan and Syrah vines, a very typical blend in the Priorat, are cultivated on the slaty slopes of Licorella, decomposed slate, rich in oxidizing mineral elements and which are the most sought after soils in the area. It is harvested in small boxes to pamper the grapes, and after fermentation with indigenous yeasts, it matures for a few months in larger barrels and vats, all in order to protect the wine from excessive make-up.
