Description

2132 – RED WINE AL ALMODI 2022 OF ALTAVINS D.O. TERRA ALTA

Characteristics: Finding wines made with hairy Grenache is not easy, even less if we think of monovarietal wines, and practically impossible if we don’t want the price of the bottle to skyrocket; even so, this Almodí complies all the aforementioned conditions, as it is a single varietal hairy Grenache of exceptional quality.

Description: The hairy Grenache is found in Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Alicante and southern France. Disused for years due to its supposed vegetal profile, modern oenology has made it possible to produce wines full of personality in which the aromas of wild fruits dominate the vegetables, while elegance and delicacy take over the whole. As a curiosity, it is important to know that its name derives from the villi that form on the back of the leaves.

Varieties: 100% hairy Grenache

Aging: 4 months in French oak barrels.

Vintage: 2022

Designation of Origin: D.O. Terra Alta

Alcoholic Degree: 15.5% Vol.

Capacity: 75 Cl.

Tasting Notes:

· View: Violate / Dense / Bright

· Nose: Its aroma is seductive, balsamic, purely Mediterranean. The tones of the bush are combined with notes of wild fruit.

· Mouth: In the mouth it is juicy, liquorice but fine, broad and elegant. With a little airing, blue flowers and liquorice, toasted fines and sand dust appear. The tannins are a bit rustic but round and their volume captivates from friendliness. Reminders of blackberry and pepper jams that become more obvious with time.

Pairing: Roasted vegetables / Charcuterie / Rice with meat

Service: It is recommended to decant it and serve it between 14 and 16 ºC.
