2643 – RED WINE UNEXPECTED – D.O. PAGO D’AYLÉS FROM ARAGON
Characteristics: Aragon is where Grenache originates and this wine could not be a more classic expression. The Unexpected, from Pago d’Aylés is a delicious fresh red, with round and expressive fruit, made from 100% Grenache.
Description: Grenache old vines from the La Loma parcel in Valdehorna (Zaragoza), from vines between 60-80 years old at an altitude between 900-1000 meters.Slate soils on the slopes of the Serra de Sant Martí where the Santa Cruz peak (1350 m), second highest in Aragon after Moncayo, is located.

Tasting Notes:
- View: Shows a dense ruby-purple colour as well as delicious and crisp black cherries and raspberries.
- Aroma: The nose evokes notes of cocoa thanks to a short stay in oak barrels.
- Taste: It is a young but full-bodied wine. It is fruity and tasty. In the mouth it leaves deep flavours of mortinjo, sweet pepper and violets, and – in due measure – a bit of oak. The retro taste has rosemary and a little lavender.
Pairing: roast pork, piglet, barbecues, roasts with barbecue sauce, smoked pork loin.
Service: It is recommended to serve it between 14 and 16 ºC. Be sure to leave it open to let all the flavours develop and enjoy the sensory journey after sipping the Unexpected.
