2932 – RED WINE ST. JOSEPH OF VIDAL-FLEURY WINES OF FRANCE

History: It was in 1781, in the small town of Tupin-et-Semons, south of Lyon and in the most prestigious vineyard of the Rhone, when Joseph Vidal founded the house of the same name. From the beginning it acquired an international reputation thanks, in particular, to exchanges with the United States. Thomas Jefferson, then US Ambassador to France, visited the property in 1787. In the 1890s, Gustave Vidal married Miss Fleury and Maison Vidal became Maison Vidal-Fleury. These nuptials come at the right time because the bride’s dowry makes it possible to replant the vine that has just suffered the devastating attacks of phylloxera. In 2008, the House took a new step and invested in new cellars of more than 9,000 m² to optimize the aging, packaging and aging of the wines in bottles. Today, Maison Vidal-Fleury has no less than 19 of the most prestigious appellations of origin in the Rhone Valley.

Description: Vidal Fleury Saint-Joseph is a premium red wine produced by Vidal Fleury, one of the oldest wineries in the Rhône Valley. The wine comes from the Saint-Joseph appellation of origin, known for its steep vineyards on terraces and granite soils. The grapes are hand picked and carefully selected to ensure that only the best fruit is used. The winemaking process involves traditional techniques, including long maceration and aging in oak barrels. The resulting wine is complex and full-bodied, with aromas of black fruit, spice and earth.
