7225 – JAPANESE SHINOBU BLENDED WHISKY SHOGUN MIZUNARA AND BOURBON OAK 43º – 70 Cl.

Characteristics: Shinobu Japanese Blended Whisky Shogun Mizunara And Bourbon OAK is a blended Japanese whisky produced by Shinobu Distillery in Niigata Prefecture (Japan). This expression combines selected malts and grain whiskies that are initially aged in bourbon and sherry casks, before finishing its aging in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, a wood highly appreciated for providing exotic aromas and aromatic complexity. The name Mizunara Oak refers precisely to this distinctive finish. The whisky is presented naturally, without dyes or cold filtering, and seeks a balance between smooth character and aromatic structure. In some versions it is indicated that the blend is 50% malt and 50% grain, which explains its accessible and versatile profile in the mouth.

Tasting Notes:

  • View: Medium golden amber colour, clean and with good clarity in the glass.
  • Nose: Aromas of toasted nuts (walnut, hazelnut), pear in jelly and soft honey, accompanied by herbal notes and a touch of incense and Mizunara wood that provides a slightly exotic nuance.
  • Mouth: Soft and balanced entry, with flavours of burnt vanilla, light caramel and a spicy background of black pepper and cloves, along with hints of ripe citrus and toasted wood.
