Characteristics: Old Perth Cask Strength Sherry Matured is an expression that pays homage to the city of Perth, a historic epicentre of whisky blending in Scotland. Its origins date back to 1908, when Peter Thompson created this blend, at that time based on North British grain whisky with a “top dressing” of Macallan and other malts from Speyside, Highland and Islay. Today, Morrison and Mackay have revived Old Perth with a different approach, transforming it into a pure blended malt, eliminating the grain whisky and selecting exclusively malts from the Glenlivet region.

This Cask Strength version, matured entirely in sherry casks, exhibits a deep, spicy and fruity character, highlighting the richness of the wood and the intensity of its components. What makes this edition special is its bottling without chill filtration or added colourings, allowing for an authentic experience, with all the body and natural texture of the whisky. Its impressive 58.6% ABV provides exceptional power, highlighting the earthy nuances, the sweetness of caramel and the warmth of spices. It is an ideal whisky for lovers of intense and well-structured flavours. A robust whisky, with personality and character, ideal for those looking for intensity and depth in every sip.

Tasting Notes:

• View: Dark amber with mahogany reflections and reddish sparkles. Its dense body and the way it slides through the glass demonstrate its maturation in sherry casks and its high alcohol content.
• Nose: Rich and complex, dominated by notes of caramel toffee, cherry jam and nuts such as walnuts and toasted almonds. Hints of candied orange, cocoa powder and a subtle touch of shortbread biscuit also appear. The influence of sherry is expressed with an enveloping intensity.
• Mouth: Powerful and spicy from the first sip, with an earthy entrance that gives way to fresh ginger, cinnamon stick and toasted barley. As it evolves in the mouth, notes of honey, salted toffee and a touch of dark chocolate emerge, balancing its spicy character with sweetness.
